At some shows we are Katya's. At the Sugarloaf events, you know us as Cleopatra's White Nights.
When we had a store we called it "Katya's White Nights" to combine the two.:
Then.... recently we added Katya's and Cleopatra's to relieve confusion..

Over the last ten years, These” bodacious Baltic Babes “ have been exhibiting in juried craft shows & wowing attendees throughout the United States. |
A certain group of their jewelry focuses on Baltic Amber as combined with golds, & other gemstones like amethyst, jade, garnet... has found wide appeal from shoppers in museum shops to country stores.
.( In General Amber is only found in silver, & is produced in Poland & exported to America). |

MAGNETIC DESIGNS were a natural next step. Ancient peoples learned that
amber seemed to have had magnetic properties.. but in truth, it is static electricity that is made
when, for exmple, amber is rubbed against natural cloth...it can pick up fibers and hairs etc..
It is a fun experiment. In any event, Katya and Cleopatra have not found Americans fascinated
with their magnetic jewelry that not only is easy to put on, but has beneficial effects for the
wearer. More can be found elsewhere in this site. Many Necklaces,bracekets,brooches and
eyeglass holders have rare earth magnets as part of their composition |

Amber has been used in ancient healing, & was infact, the first gemstone-bead ever used in jewelry. Throughout History, Healers have used Amber to draw diseases from the body.
The metaphysical effect of combining Amber with certain
gemstones...continues to intrigue. Most people don’t know that there are perhaps as many
as 250 shades of amber, & almost all of ours is hand cut! |

Early in their jewelry making careers, Katya & Tatyana Cleopatra were on a 60 hour train ride from Budapest to St. Petersburg as part of an amber buying expedition. The temperature was 110 degrees outside of the crowded sleeping compartment they were in , when the train
abruptly stopped somewhere in the middle of the Ukraine ! All the cars in front & all the cars behind went rolling off in opposite directions, leaving their car sitting alone on the tracks. |
Hours later, Tatyana took the money & went on foot looking for water, through the huge railroad yardwith many identical cars...An hour later,before she returned, another train came along and hooked up to this solitary train... pulling Kathy & Tatyana far apart , Tatyana with no passports, & Kathy with no money or ability to speak Russian..... Well......all’s well that ends well, & adventures like this have been common for These ladies who travel all over the world in search of wonderful
gemstones to add to their main squeeze, 40 million year old Baltic Amber.
