The main source for mined Amber has been the Kaliningrad Minesite in Russia, on the Baltic Sea. The Amber minesite closed early in 2002 , flooding the main site... but fortunately reopened again (whew!) Now, however, they are producing about 20 % of the original, 'overexcavation" .This has precipated an "AMBER EMERGENCY" in the Jewelry world. making somewhat of a shortage,...resulting in delays and some cuts are unavailable. Over the centuries, & in particular since 1992, the demand for raw Amber has been absolutely awesome. The Amber Material is excavated from the legacy of extinct connifer trees, lying in a sunken primeval forest

Amber was one of the reasons the Emperor Nero opened the trade routes with the Germanic tribes. Gladiators wore amulets of amber for protection while the ladies of the court dyed their hair to match their shades of amber.

WHITE 'QUEEN' AMBER Shown Right... Had/has the most powerful reputation for healing.
It was a primary ingredient in so many important medical preparations that it was not permissable to be worn for mere adornment for a large period of time in History. “QUEENS”, , of course, could wear anything they chose ! & they would choose white satin, brocades, silk and ,naturally "White Amber."
